    Learning Technologist (Multimedia Specialist)

    Position Description:

    CPA Ontario is currently in search of a Learning Technologist (Multimedia) to conceptualize, direct, shoot, edit videos and create other digital learning products to tell powerful stories that create engaging continuing education and professional development experiences. The Learning Technologist (Multimedia) will be responsible for capturing and packaging content in a compelling manner for microlearning, eLearning and other digital learning efforts. Demonstrated creativity is critical for this role.

    Major Responsibilities:

    • Leverage video-production and multimedia skills to develop engaging microlearning, longer-format videos and other educational products.
    • Develop animations and graphics to add visual interest to video footage.
    • Set up and usage of professional video equipment, including cameras, green screen, microphones and lighting.
    • Coordinate all video shoot-related logistic.
    • Plan studio and field productions.
    • Execute post-production activities including editing and video compression for multiple delivery platforms.
    • Develop learning podcasts, videos, webinars, mobile learning, gaming and, virtual classroom using collaborative technologies, social learning technologies, and other digital learning solutions.
    • Provide expertise and consultative support to peers in the development of eLearning, podcasts, webinars, and other digital learning solutions.
    • Qualification Requirements:
    • Post-secondary diploma, degree or certificate, preferably in multi-media related field, education technology, graphic design or a related field.
    • A minimum of 6 years’ experience utilizing multimedia and communication technologies in developing and deploying learning solutions in a demanding fast-paced environment working on multiple priorities simultaneously.
    • Previous experience in a learning function or team, partnering with designers.
    • Experience with Learning and Content Management Systems, PC, Mac, and mobile platforms.
    • Experience with Photoshop, Illustrator, and other tools within the Adobe Creative Suite.
    • Proficiency in using tools such as Articulate, Captivate, and Lectora to develop learning based on design inputs a strong asset.
    • Awareness of learning design principles, including user interface and user experience design an asset.
    • Working knowledge of Adobe Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Audition, Media Encoder); Lightroom, Premiere, Final Cut Pro X.
    • Strong portfolio of multimedia and educational products.

    Learning Technologist (eLearning Development)

    Position Description:
    CPA Ontario is currently in search of a Learning Technologist (eLearning Development) who will be the “champion” for new technologies, provide thought leadership, as well as recommend and promote the learning technologies that will most effectively deploy CPA Ontario learning products to its members. The Learning Technologist will also be responsible for using learning technologies to develop/produce learning.
    Major Responsibilities:

    • Develop interactive online courses using course authoring tools such as Articulate’s Storyline 360.
    • Develop interactive games, Videoscribe animations and add audio and video elements to courses as needed.
    • Provide expertise and consultative support to peers in the development of eLearning, micro learning and mobile learning.
    • Analyze problems and make sound decisions about a course of action within the scope of the position.
    • Recommend, develop, deploy and promote learning technologies and tools.
    • Ensure timely course production, pilot/user testing, QA.
    • Promote new learning technologies.
    • Develop and document processes and approaches for learning development tasks.
    • Counsel the learning team on approaches, methods and processes for developing technology-supported learning.
    • Revise and update programmed learning content.
    • Help maintain all learning technology software.
    • Stay current with industry trends and best practices.
    • Support learning program acquisition and curation efforts as needed.
    • Qualification Requirements:
    • Post-secondary diploma, degree or certificate, preferably in Education Technology, Graphic Design and/or IT, or a related field.
    • A minimum of 6 years’ experience utilizing technologies developing and deploying learning in a fast-paced demanding environment managing multiple projects simultaneously.
    • Strong portfolio of interactive eLearning courses and learning objects.
    • Previous experience in a learning function or team, partnering with designers.
    • Experience with Learning and Content Management Systems, PC, Mac, and mobile platforms.
    • Intermediate to advanced computer skills with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook, file manipulation and remote access.
    • Experience with Photoshop, Illustrator, and other tools within the Adobe Creative Suite.
    • Advanced proficiency using tools such as Articulate, Captivate, and Lectora to develop learning based on design inputs.
    • Awareness of learning design principles, including user interface and user experience design.
    • Proven project management skills, including prototyping, rapid development, scoping and implementation (especially via an LMS).
    • Demonstrated ability to shift with agility from thought leadership to hands on development.

    Learning Product Acquisition Manager

    Position Description:
    CPA Ontario is currently in search of a Learning Product Acquisition Manager. Reporting to the Product and Program Development Officer, the Learning Product Acquisition Manager is responsible for supporting CPA Ontario in building a vast catalogue of online and face-to-face learning programs.

    Major Responsibilities:

    • Research and negotiate content acquisition and renewal partnerships in line with budgets and overall strategy.
    • Interview and evaluate potential educational content partners and vendors.
    • Review the quality of products with insight from instructional design team.
    • Negotiate contracts and analyze price proposals, budgets, and other data and information to determine reasonable prices.
    • Evaluate and monitor contract performance to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and to determine need for changes.
    •  Recommend and present learning solutions to leadership that meets business objectives and maximizes benefits to customers.
    • Conduct needs analyses that articulate the current state, end state, and gap to which each perspective product acquisition is targeted.
    • Contribute to development of content strategy by contributing to curriculum curation efforts appropriate for target audiences.

    Qualification Requirements:

    • A university degree in business or equivalent field.
    • 5 plus years’ purchasing experience, preferably in an educational publishing setting.
    • Proven ability to collaborate with a wide array of constituents, including senior business leaders and vendors and other stakeholders.
    • Creative and practical problem identification, problem reporting, and problem-solving skills.
    • Knowledge of adult learning theory and current approaches to both instructor-led and online learning an asset.
    • Strong program management skills, including familiarity with program budgets and scheduling.
    • Knowledge of accessibility concepts and principles an asset.
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written) the demonstrated ability to explain technical concepts in non-technical terms to key audiences and stakeholders across the organization.

    Content Editor and Learning QA Specialist

    Position Description:

    CPA Ontario is currently in search of Content Editor and Learning QA Specialist who is passionate about the written word and brings it to life in a broad variety of adult learning and professional development formats.

    Major Responsibilities:

    • Copyedit course maps, storyboards and other eLearning design documents, as well as workshop and marketing materials for correctness, clarity and quality.
    •   Fact-check information and propose revision suggestions when necessary.
    •  Mentor and train internal staff on processes and editorial needs while ensuring consistent raising of standards by providing feedback, a critical eye and guidance. Develop an in-house style guide for instructional design staff.
    • Shape and polish his/her own work, but also that of instructional designers and other team members.

    Qualification Requirements:

    • BA degree, preferably in English, Journalism, Instructional Design, or equivalent programs; Master’s degree would be an asset.
    •  A minimum of 5 years’ experience in both copy and substantive editing within print and online publication settings.
    •  Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Highly proficient with MS Office and learning management systems.
    •  Proven ability to collaborate with a wide array of constituents, including senior business leaders and subject matter experts.
    •  Knowledge of adult learning theory and current approaches to both instructor-led and online learning an asset.
    •  Knowledge of accessibility concepts and principles an asset.
    • Knowledge of the financial services industry an asset.
    • Experience in quality assurance and/or content editing of educational materials an asset.
    • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline oriented environment, dealing with ambiguity and last-minute change in plans, managing multiple projects concurrently, on time required.
    • A strong team player with a positive attitude, sense of urgency, and willingness to do whatever is needed to achieve project goals under minimal supervision required.
    • Strong organizational skills, with immaculate attention to detail.
    • Flexibility to work outside of regular business hours when required.
